Establishing & maintaining measurable performance metrics for all levels of procurement activities, including supplier performance, quality, internal order placement, buyer activity levels, on-time delivery, financial performance, and optimal inventory levels.
- Ensuring that performance improvement and other plans are developed, issued, tracked, and reported on as required for supply base management and improvement.
- Resolving disputes & claims with vendors, and reporting to management on the measurable status of progress and corrective actions, as it relates to supplier performance.
- Negotiating with multiple vendors and executing purchase orders and/or vendor contracts as needed to support critical business needs.
- Managing material / supplies flow to ensure inventory is maintained to the optimal level to support on time customer deliveries, while keeping inventory holdings at the appropriate levels & securing the best price.
- Developing & implementing commodity / supply chain strategies covering all commodities, services, and supplier processes resulting in more value, leverage, and standardization, while also promoting TNT purchasing & inventory management best practices.
- Reviewing the reorder report daily to ensure optimal inventory levels.
- Working with R&D on product development strategies in line with corporate initiatives to improve supply chain efficiencies and reduce the total cost of supply chain management.
- Developing a vendor base that creates and sustains a competitive advantage for TNT food and nutritional products. Manages on-going vendor / supplier customer relationships, and performs annual vendor evaluations.
- Drafting budget proposals and managing material & supplies quality and cost savings initiatives in line with corporate budget and other TNT objectives.
- Monitoring inventory levels to anticipate and prevent shortages. Ensures cycle counts are made, along with periodic physical inventory and reconciles discrepancies.
- Helping to source alternative items for buyers and customers.
- Hiring, training, mentoring, leading, directing, evaluating, and firing direct reports.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
